Website Management & Update Administration
Thank you for your excellent cooperation in 2025 – and here’s to a successful start to the new year!

As always at the turn of the year, here is my brief technical review of the year that is drawing to a close:

Technical innovations

Our WordPress hosting provider Raidboxes Like many providers, it has adjusted its prices slightly, whilst at the same time further improving performance noticeably. The servers are running even faster, and Dynamic+ in particular (the server’s Redis object cache) provides a significant speed boost for websites and, above all, for WooCommerce shops.

Also WordPress and WooCommerce have focused heavily on stability and performance this year – and you can really tell in everyday use.

Our favourite theme GeneratePress One has been enhanced with fantastic new features – whilst maintaining the highest levels of stability and performance. Particularly noteworthy are the Query Loop and the Carousel Slider: they open up a wide range of new design possibilities for websites. Overall, GeneratePress One is, more than ever, one of the most mature and well-maintained WordPress themes on the market.

Multilingual websites can be created using TranslatePress It is now relatively straightforward to implement. It works quickly, reliably and without duplicating every page for each language. The plugin is used on many of our websites: when we want to reach an international audience – or simply to send a clear message that our website is being actively developed.

Update figures continue to rise

This has been the trend in recent years: the number of updates continues to rise. By 2025, the average one of our websites will have undergone more than 550 updates to WordPress, themes and plugins.

This demonstrates just how dynamically WordPress is evolving as a leading content management system – and that both the number and complexity of its extensions are increasing. At the same time, it is also evident that the quality of the system as a whole is improving noticeably, which is good news for users and developers alike.

Updates in 2025

AI in web development

AI capabilities – particularly in terms of language and context comprehension – have advanced enormously by 2025. The key to achieving good results always lies in synergy: good Prompts, clear Target images and a clean technical implementation. I now use AI on a daily basis in web development – with excellent results. I’ve been able to significantly boost my efficiency and output, particularly when extending WordPress and WooCommerce and when developing new features.

Consequently, the practical requirements of new and existing projects have given rise to a whole range of new Plugins The result: amongst other things, a complete Ticket system for theatre, a Event Board for events, useful tools for website administration and, most recently, a Accessibility plugin to improve accessibility. It is already being used in new developments this year.

Photographic art in our new Lux Scriptum Gallery

I am particularly delighted that – once again this year – a new space for photographic experimentation and photographic art has been created: the online gallery Lux Scriptum.

This is a place where photographic art can be showcased in many different ways – and there are already several exciting exhibitions from this year to discover there. All the photographers hope you enjoy your virtual stroll through the exhibitions.
